Anti-Communism Week Declared by Trump: "It Has Only Brought Ruin"

Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States, has officially designated November 2 to 8, 2025, as Anti-Communism Week in the country. This period is intended to serve as a reminder of the destruction wrought by communist ideology and to reaffirm America's commitment to freedom and human rights.

“This week, our nation observes Anti-Communism Week, a somber reminder of the devastation caused by one of history's most destructive ideologies,” stated the president in his proclamation, which was released on November 7 on the official White House site.

In his statement, Trump emphasized how communism has "brought devastation to nations and souls," recalling that “over 100 million lives have been taken by regimes aiming to erase faith, suppress freedom, and destroy hard-earned prosperity, violating God-given rights and dignity.”

The president stressed that communism "has only brought ruin" and condemned its tendency to "silence dissent, punish beliefs, and demand generations bow to the power of the State instead of standing up for freedom."

Trump further warned that, more than three decades after the end of the Cold War, “new voices are repeating old lies, disguised in the language of social justice and democratic socialism.” However, he insisted that the underlying message remains unchanged: “relinquish your freedom, trust in government power, and trade the promise of prosperity for the false comfort of control.”

“The United States rejects this malevolent doctrine. We remain a nation founded on the eternal truth that freedom and opportunity are birthrights of every individual, and no ideology, foreign or domestic, can extinguish them,” the president added.

Concluding the proclamation, Trump asserted that the country “honors the victims of oppression by keeping their cause alive and ensuring that communism, and any system that denies the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, finds its place, once and for all, in the ash heap of history.”

The announcement of Anti-Communism Week 2025 was also made by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, who posted on social media platform X, reiterating the president's statement that “this week, our nation observes Anti-Communism Week, a solemn reminder of the devastation caused by one of history's most destructive ideologies.”

A Consistent Stance Against Socialism and Communism

The proclamation comes just days after Trump urged the rejection of communism at the America Business Forum (ABF) held in Miami. There, he labeled the new mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, as a “communist” and warned that “Miami will be a refuge for those fleeing the communist regime of New York,” as he stated during the event.

“Communists, Marxists, socialists, and globalists had their chance and delivered nothing but disaster,” Trump declared during his speech, summarizing the current political scenario with the phrase: “The choice is communism or common sense.”

In his remarks, Trump linked Mamdani's election, associated with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, to a “loss of sovereignty” for the country. He accused the left of wanting to transform the United States into “communist Cuba or socialist Venezuela.”

Through the proclamation of Anti-Communism Week, Trump reinforces his offensive against communism and socialism both within the United States and abroad.
