Molusco Fires Back at Otaola After Being Called a "Leftist Idiot" Following Controversial Interview with Charly & Johayron

Saturday, March 8, 2025 by Michael Hernandez

Jorge Pabón, widely recognized in Puerto Rican radio, social media, and YouTube as Molusco, has responded to Alexander Otaola after being labeled a "leftist idiot." This comment came in the wake of a contentious interview Molusco conducted with Cuban reggaeton artists Charly & Johayron.

During one of his shows, Molusco took the time to address the criticisms and insults from the Cuban influencer. He emphasized that although he stands in solidarity with Cuba, there's no need to compare it to Puerto Rico, as both nations face entirely different circumstances.

"Every country has its own issues," Molusco noted. "Just because Cuba is going through a mess, doesn't mean I have to endure the problems in my country without complaint. Cuba is indeed facing a painful reality, and I am sympathetic. However, if Cuba goes two weeks without electricity, it doesn't mean I should be content with just a few hours without power in a blackout, paying exorbitant rates. I refuse to watch an inept government term after term as my country's health and education continue to deteriorate, and transportation remains a disaster."

Molusco firmly stated, "Because Cuba lives under a dictatorship, it doesn’t mean I have to compare myself to Cuba. Our reality is different." He highlighted the issues within Puerto Rico that require scrutiny and improvement, rather than complacency due to other countries being in worse conditions.

"I'm neither leftist nor rightist; I believe in good governance," Molusco added, stressing that the priority should be effective leadership in Puerto Rico, regardless of political affiliation. He criticized Otaola, saying, "You talk nonsense, Otaola. Don't speak about Puerto Rico when you know nothing about it. Stick to talking about Cuba."

Molusco clarified that during his interview with Charly & Johayron, he refrained from expressing opinions as a mark of respect towards Cubans and Cuba, recognizing he hasn't experienced their struggles firsthand.

Conversely, Otaola lumped Molusco together with figures like Bad Bunny, Calle 13, and Ricky Martin, labeling them all as "leftist idiots." He suggested they should spend a month in Cuba to witness the hardships endured on the island. "You choose to be ignorant," Otaola accused Molusco.

The Cuban influencer also criticized the Cuban reggaeton artists, branding them as "worthless artists" who pretend everything is fine while the dictatorship continues to devastate the country and inflict suffering on its people.
