A couple riding their electric motorcycle on a road in Artemisa experienced a frightening ordeal when masked assailants attempted to steal their vehicle. This alarming incident took place in broad daylight on a road connecting the city of Artemisa with the village of Lincoln, located just 5 kilometers from the municipal center.

The victim, identified as Iliana Domínguez, was traveling with her husband on the motorcycle when they were suddenly ambushed by two men with their faces covered. "They knocked us to the ground, and both of them attacked my husband to immobilize him and take the motorcycle. Amidst the struggle and my screams, someone who was cutting grass nearby rushed to help us," she recounted to the Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press (ICLEP).

Fortunately, when the thieves noticed that the farmer was armed with a machete, they fled through a nearby path. "They ended up disappearing into the bushes," she added.
