Luis Enrique Ferrer García, a Cuban dissident and brother of former political prisoner José Daniel Ferrer, was involved in a traffic accident while driving his truck in the United States. Luis Enrique shared a video on his Facebook page, showing him in a hospital bed with a neck brace.
He aimed to reassure his loved ones after the serious incident that left his vehicle overturned on the road. "I'm okay. Just some bruises on my knee and body, but nothing serious. A snow plow truck cut in front of my lane, and there was no time to stop," he explained.
Many people offered him well-wishes for a swift recovery. "Thank you all. I'm fine. Nothing serious. A big hug! We continue forward until the end of the dictatorship," he remarked.
The democracy activist in Cuba was one of those imprisoned during the Black Spring of 2003. Like his brother, he was sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison. After his release, he went into exile, continuing his efforts for the Cuban cause through his association with the Cuban American National Foundation.
