A Delta Air Lines aircraft traveling from Minneapolis, USA, to Toronto, Canada, encountered a crash landing on Monday at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which was blanketed in snow due to a winter storm, according to authorities. The Peel Regional Police, who oversee the airport's jurisdiction, reported that eight individuals sustained injuries. Among them, one person was deemed "critical but stable," while the remaining seven endured minor to moderate injuries, as detailed by ABC News.

The incident occurred around 2:45 PM (local time), as per a preliminary statement from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). "Delta Air Lines flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto's Pearson International Airport in Canada at approximately 2:45 PM local time on Monday, February 17. All 80 individuals on board were evacuated. The CRJ-900 had departed from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation and provide updates," the FAA noted.

Initially, Pearson Airport described the event on social media platform X as an "incident." "Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew have been accounted for," they mentioned in a brief communication.

Images circulating on various X accounts depict the aircraft overturned on Pearson's runway. According to a report by Telemundo News, airport staff indicated that "all arrivals and departures are currently canceled," although this has not been officially confirmed. The Pearson website indicated multiple delays impacting flight arrivals and departures.

Earlier that day, the airport had shared a morning photo on X showing an area of the airfield and noted that cleanup efforts following the weekend storm were ongoing. "Our teams worked throughout the weekend to keep the approximately 5 million square meters of the airfield clear of snow, ensuring that planes could arrive and depart safely," the airport stated.
