Cuban authorities have successfully found one of the two teenagers from Cárdenas who were reported missing over a month ago. Ibelise Rosales, a cousin of Yoandriane Díaz García, shared the news on the "Cardenenses en Facebook" group, mentioning that the girl's mother had traveled to the capital to bring her back.
"My cousin has just been found. The police called my mom, and they are on their way to Havana to find out the details of how and where she was discovered. It was in Havana. Once we know everything, I'll share all the details. Thank you so much for your support," Ibelise expressed.
She emphasized that this situation with the girl is unprecedented. "For a month, we've been posting and seeking help for her to be found, and the family was desperate. Thank God she's in Havana, but we still don't know anything about her condition or why she did it," she added.
Fourteen-year-old Yoandriane Díaz García left her home on Saturday, January 13, and had not been heard from since. She departed with a backpack full of clothes and did not return, nor did she contact her family or answer her phone.
According to sources close to the family, she was not alone at the time of her disappearance. She was accompanied by another young girl, whose family also reached out online for assistance in finding her. This girl is Melanie Rodríguez González, aged 13, who lives on Industria Street 212, between Línea and Souverbille. She was last seen at José Martí school in Cárdenas, dressed in an orange skirt set.
The parents of both girls reported the incidents to the police.
