Tuesday, February 11, 2025 by Amelia Soto

Social media platforms often host a wide range of debates, and recently, a Cuban woman living in the United States delivered a bold response to a comment suggesting that Cuban women are not clean. The video, shared on TikTok by user @cubitabella09, sparked various reactions after a follower made a derogatory statement about the hygiene of Cuban women. Instead of ignoring it, the Cuban woman recorded a video showcasing her home's cleanliness and confidently addressed the criticism.

"Your comment seems a bit out of place. Let me clarify that there are clean and messy women in every nationality. But if you want to see how clean my house is, I'm going to show you," the young woman stated at the beginning of the video.

Accompanied by footage of her home, she took viewers on a tour of different areas, highlighting the spotless condition of her floors, bedroom, and bathroom. "Just from the shine of the floor, you can imagine how clean my house is. See how tidy this Cuban is? Look at my room, what do you think? And here's my bathroom, is it clean or not?" she emphasized, challenging the person who made the comment.

To conclude her firm response, she posed a direct question to her critic: "Now my question is, is your house clean? We’ll have to see."

The video has gone viral on TikTok, attracting hundreds of comments praising the Cuban woman's response and noting that cleanliness is not determined by nationality, but by personal habits. "Well said, cleanliness doesn't have a passport," one user remarked, while another added, "Proud to be Cuban and to keep my house just as spotless."

This example once again illustrates how social media can be a double-edged sword: on one hand, it can amplify hurtful and prejudiced comments, but it also provides a platform to assert pride and dignity against such criticisms.
