Five members of the group were caught in the act and arrested by law enforcement, though the exact date of the operation remains undisclosed. This information was shared on the pro-government Facebook page "Avileños de Corazón."

The thieves, identified only by their first names—Julio Inocente, Ángel Luis, Kevin, Yunior, and Maikol Leandro—targeted both gasoline and electric motorcycles, commonly referred to as motorinas, in the cities of Ciego de Ávila and Morón. They employed violent methods to carry out their thefts.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gang was found with balaclavas, knives, bolts, nuts, pellets, and gloves when they were apprehended. The group was known to steal motorcycles in Ciego de Ávila and transport them to Morón, and vice versa. The arrest was met with relief, as the stolen vehicles were returned to their rightful owners, with the community expressing satisfaction that there are "five fewer criminals to cause harm."
