Spotting the reptile on its unexpected "adventure" outside, the man managed to capture the tortoise between his legs to prevent it from wandering further into the street. As he wrestled with the animal to keep it from crossing the road, he called upon another neighbor to knock on the owner's door and inform them of the situation, ensuring the safe return of the tortoise to its home.
A passing driver captured the incident on video and shared it on the Instagram group Only in Dade, which highlights unusual happenings in Florida's most Hispanic county. "Haha, this happened to me once in Miami Springs! They were new to the neighborhood, and the tortoise decided to go for a stroll! I stopped the car and waited for someone to come because it was confidently heading for the street," recounted one user, sharing their own experience with a runaway tortoise.
