A taxi ended up overturned following a traffic accident this Saturday in the Cristo neighborhood of Camagüey. According to Ahmed Puig Lamela, who witnessed the incident, the taxi was struck by a truck. Photos posted on his Facebook page reveal the aftermath of the crash involving both vehicles.

"Just before dawn today, at the intersection of Bembeta and 20 de Mayo streets, next to Parque del Cristo, an American-made truck failed to stop at a PARE sign and collided with a taxi traveling on 20 de Mayo street," Puig Lamela explained.

He noted that, fortunately, there were no fatalities, but the accident did result in significant material damage. A local resident mentioned that issues with that PARE sign are frequent in the area.

"Not long ago, I witnessed two scooters collide right in front of me. People need to be more cautious. There's been a general decline in respect for traffic rules everywhere," the neighbor remarked.

Another resident pointed out that high-speed traffic has never been a problem on these narrow streets in the historic district. "It's almost certain that the overturning was due to drunkenness or drugs, along with the incompetence and irresponsibility instilled by the 'revolution' into this generation they created," he commented.
