The seismic event took place at 8:29 am local time, registering a magnitude of 3.4. It was pinpointed at coordinates 19.77 degrees north latitude and 75.99 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 4.1 kilometers.

The epicenter of the quake was located 31 kilometers southwest of Santiago de Cuba city. Preliminary reports indicate that the tremor was felt in Santiago de Cuba and Palma Soriano municipalities. As of the latest update, provided by authorities at 9:00 am, there have been no reports of material damage or injuries related to the quake. This marks the first noticeable earthquake reported in the year 2025.
