South Florida is currently under the lingering influence of a polar arctic front that recently triggered record-breaking snowfall in certain parts of the state. Over the next three days, the region will continue to experience chilly, overcast conditions with occasional isolated showers, according to local meteorological services.

This Thursday morning, temperatures are expected to remain below 50°F (10°C), with a northern wind and scattered showers making it feel even colder, as reported by Telemundo 51. Daytime highs are not expected to surpass 60°F (15.5°C), prompting officials to advise residents to bundle up and carry umbrellas.

Looking ahead to Friday, temperatures are forecasted to hit their lowest point of the week. Highs will barely reach 60°F-61°F, with overnight lows potentially dropping to 46°F-47°F (7.7°C) by early Saturday morning, and wind chill values hovering around 40°F (4.4°C). Despite the cold, the sun is anticipated to break through as the day progresses.

On Saturday, while the morning will remain cold, the afternoon should bring more sunshine and gradually warming temperatures. By Sunday, the weather is expected to improve significantly, featuring partly cloudy skies and a rise in temperatures approaching the seasonal norm.

Daily Forecast:

Friday: Chilly morning and even colder night, with highs around 60°F.

Saturday: Cold morning, more sunshine, with cool temperatures in the afternoon.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with pleasant and rising temperatures.

Residents in South Florida, typically more accustomed to warm weather, are urged to prepare for the cooler temperatures. Many were taken aback by the historic snowfall images from the northern part of the state. This week, Florida experienced a weather event of historical significance, as the snowstorm that swept through the region set a new state record for snowfall.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the city of Pensacola, located in the state's northwest, recorded a total of 7.6 inches of snow at 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, as measured at Pensacola International Airport.
