Trump Issues Stark Warning to Putin: "End This Absurd War"

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, threatening additional economic sanctions if the war in Ukraine doesn't come to an end. Through his platform, Truth Social, Trump conveyed his cautionary message to the communist leader, emphasizing the repercussions Russia would face if the conflict continues and urging him to strike a deal.

"I'm not out to harm Russia," Trump began, clarifying his admiration for the Russian populace and noting his historically positive rapport with Putin. "I'm offering a significant opportunity for Russia, whose economy is currently struggling, and for President Putin. Reach an agreement now and halt this absurd war! It's only going to worsen," he asserted.

Trump further emphasized, "If a 'deal' isn't reached soon, I will have no alternative but to impose substantial taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on all Russian goods sold to the United States and other involved nations." The Republican leader, who has previously blamed Joe Biden for the ongoing conflict, reiterated that such a war would never have started under his administration and called for an immediate resolution.

Trump urged, "We can choose the easy way or the hard way - and the easy way is always preferable. It's time to 'make a deal.' No more lives should be needlessly lost!"

Just days earlier, during his inauguration speech, Trump had already suggested that Putin should negotiate a resolution, highlighting how the war is economically devastating Russia. "I believe Russia will face significant trouble. Just look at their economy. Look at their inflation," he remarked at the time.
