Sunday, January 19, 2025 by Elizabeth Alvarado

El Yonki and his wife, Ani Dieppa, have returned to Cuba for the first time since the singer's mother passed away in May of last year. In the early hours, the artist was surrounded by his loved ones, enjoying their company and playing dominoes, embracing the true Cuban spirit.

"I'm in Cuba, Artemisa, playing dominoes with my dear Castillo," El Yonki shared on Instagram in a live update. Among those with him is Rolando Castillo, whom El Yonki regards as a father figure due to their deep bond, and his son Rowland, a participant in the July 11 protests, whom he considers a brother.

At the domino table, supported by the players' legs, no gathering is complete without rum, cigars, laughter, and the camaraderie of those trying to outsmart each other in the game. El Yonki also shared a photo on his social media featuring these individuals he sees as family.

El Yonki has often expressed that family is paramount to him. He remains unfazed by the criticisms and questions he faces regarding his decision to travel back to Cuba, emphasizing that his familial connections are what truly matter.
