A Cuban-American woman has been living on the streets of Miami for the past seven years, sharing her sorrowful story online, where she seeks assistance to overcome her addictions. Mayra, now 39, found herself homeless following the tragic death of her 14-year-old daughter in a motorcycle accident in November 2016.
"Life on the streets is no easy feat; it's truly a harrowing experience," she expressed. Born in the United States to Cuban parents, Mayra shared her heart-wrenching account with a TiKTok user known as Conducta, who is dedicated to highlighting and assisting those who have become homeless in Miami.
"Just three days ago, a man assaulted me at gunpoint; he saw my money, pulled out a gun, violated me, and then took my money," she recounted tearfully.
Mayra is seeking help to "cleanse" herself from substance abuse, fully rehabilitate, and ultimately escape her current homeless situation.
