A 39-year-old Cuban woman and mother of two lost her life on the morning of January 15 in a tragic traffic accident in the area of Guayos, located in the Cabaiguán municipality of Sancti Spíritus. The exact details of the incident remain unclear, but according to photos shared in a Facebook group dedicated to documenting accidents, it appears the victim was riding a motorcycle when she possibly collided with a fence.

The victim, Yinet Rivera Caraballo, served as the municipal director of Work and Social Security in Cabaiguán. Her untimely death has prompted numerous expressions of sympathy and grief, marking a significant loss for the community of Sancti Spíritus.

A Life Dedicated to Social Work

At just 39 years old, Rivera Caraballo was one of the founding members of the social workers movement in Cuba. She graduated in Santiago de Cuba and began her social service career in her home province of Guantánamo. Her dedication to helping vulnerable individuals was evident in her work in Cabaiguán.

Digital creator Ramonín Díaz shared a heartfelt farewell, highlighting her commitment to aiding the underprivileged. "Her personal motivation was always to assist needy families and provide support to those under the social assistance program. Your memory will linger across this blessed land you traversed for human welfare. Today, upon hearing this tragic news, we are as vulnerable as those many people who knew your commitment. Thank you, Yinet, for dedicating your life to such a noble cause. Farewell, dear friend," Diaz concluded in his touching tribute.

Remembering Yinet's Compassion

In another moving farewell, journalist Lillipsy Bello Cancio emphasized Rivera Caraballo's dedication to the disadvantaged. "Whether in a council room that sought to harness your kindness, a theater full of delegates, a community you tirelessly supported, or the home of a lonely elder, a sick child, a needy family, regardless of the audience size, skeptical looks, or biting questions, you always found a way to win people over, to rally them to your cause, to defend 'your own,'" Bello Cancio reflected in her lengthy tribute.

"Only 39 years old, yet you gave so much love, offered so much hope... you were profoundly compassionate, Yinet Rivera Caraballo. You gave so much, gave everything... up to your last breath!" she concluded.

January has been a grim month on Cuban roads, with several fatalities reported across different provinces, including the death of an Italian tourist on Thursday in Cienfuegos.
