The footage captures accounts of both injuries and fatalities at the scene. Currently, two individuals have lost their lives, and seven others are receiving medical care.
Alejandro Romero Álvarez, the secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Union of Young Communists in the province, shared on social media: “We are presently at the Provincial Hospital alongside provincial authorities, adhering to the established protocols in response to the incident. The first injured have arrived, and two deaths have been confirmed.”
The crash involved a tourist bus operated by Transtur carrying eight passengers and a truck. The minibus, belonging to the Transtur base in Santa Fe, Havana, with a seating capacity for 16, collided with the highway divider following the impact.
Those injured are currently being treated at the Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital, while authorities conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident. Medical and rescue teams have enacted all emergency procedures to assist the victims and their families.
