Colombian Falls for Cuban Music: "I'm More Into It Than My Boyfriend"

Monday, January 20, 2025 by Michael Hernandez

The reparto music genre seems to have a uniquely infectious quality, especially if your partner happens to be Cuban. This musical style might quickly infiltrate your tastes, leading to a playlist filled with the best of Cuban reparteros. Eliana Uribe, known as @eli_u22 on TikTok, is a young Colombian woman who has fully embraced this genre, thanks to her Cuban boyfriend.

"I'm Colombian and I'm more into reparto than my boyfriend," Eliana admits in a video where she's seen driving while jamming to a hit by Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13. She not only sings "Asere cómo tú me gustas" with ease, showing she knows the lyrics by heart, but she also dances and enjoys the music just like any Cuban would.

Reparto hits have become a staple in Eliana's TikTok reels, including one where she celebrates her self-esteem to the tune of "Mi nombre" by Oniel Bebeshito. "Once you've experienced a Cuban, there's no turning back," she confidently states in another video alongside her boyfriend, with the new hit "Baby I Love You" by Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13 playing in the background.

On her TikTok account, Eliana Uribe shares glimpses of life with a Cuban partner. Despite initially declaring upon her arrival in the United States that she would never date a guy from the Caribbean island, she found herself in quite the opposite situation. While there are aspects of her boyfriend that she finds hard to accept, over time she has learned a lot and even adopted some phrases typically used by Cubans.
