Wednesday, November 20, 2024 by Albert Rivera

As of this morning, the exchange rates for foreign currencies have remained stable in Cuba's black market. By midday on November 20, the values for the dollar, euro, and MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) have held steady from the previous day. The US dollar is rated at 328 Cuban pesos, while the euro is at 345.

Regarding the MLC, after losing four pesos on Tuesday, which it had gained on Monday, it stands at 265 CUP for the second consecutive day. This selling price has predominantly prevailed over the past few months. Despite the ongoing economic crisis that plagues Cuba, there has been an unusual stability in currency values since August.

Currency Stability Amid Economic Turmoil

Recent weeks have shown a rare steadiness in the prices of dollars, euros, and MLC, characterized by only slight fluctuations. This contrasts sharply with the first seven months of 2024, which saw significant volatility with rapid increases and decreases in value.
