Several Cuban artists have joined a signature campaign initiated by Teresa Padrón, the manager of the late Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger. The petition demands that the Miami-Dade prosecutor charge Damián Valdez-Galloso with first-degree murder. Teresa took to Instagram to urge, "Today I want to ask all artists to please join and support me in gathering signatures for the justice José deserves."

This call to action has garnered support from notable figures in the urban music scene, including Oniel Bebeshito, El Yonki, and Wow Popy. Private businesses have also shown solidarity with the initiative, among them Vision World Professional Optical Services and the digital creator La Balsa Cubana. Ani Dieppa, El Yonki's partner, also participated by posting a video on her Instagram, encouraging Cubans to join the cause.

The signature campaign started on Friday, aiming to push authorities to upgrade the charge against Damián Valdez to first-degree murder. Currently, Valdez faces a second-degree murder charge, which the petition argues, "does not fully capture the severity and intent of this crime. This classification downplays the loss suffered by José Manuel Carvajal’s family, friends, and community."

Many Cubans in Miami have rallied around this cause, demanding justice for the beloved reggaeton artist, with the petition now amassing over 24,000 signatures.
