Polling stations have begun to close in various parts of the United States, marking the first wave of election results. Reports indicate that voting precincts in Kentucky, Vermont, and Indiana have shut their doors, and preliminary outcomes are starting to trickle in, according to the Associated Press.

In Kentucky, a state with a long-standing history of supporting Republican candidates, Donald Trump has secured its 8 electoral votes. Similarly, Indiana has contributed its 11 electoral votes to the former president. On the other hand, Kamala Harris has claimed victory in Vermont, which offers 3 electoral votes.

As of 7:35 p.m., the tally stood at 23 electoral votes for Trump, including 4 from Montana, while Harris had garnered 3 votes. Media outlets report that voting will conclude between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in most states. However, the pivotal "swing states"—including Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania—are expected to finish voting between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

It is important to highlight that winning the presidency requires the support of 270 out of the 538 total delegates in the Electoral College. These results will play a crucial role in determining the path to the White House.
