In the wake of Miami police confirming that Damián Valdez-Galloso is responsible for the murder of Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, his aunt has called for justice. Using her YouTube channel, "Evelyn Sin Rival," she praised law enforcement for their efforts, stating, "It's a fact, and I must say, I held onto hope until the last moment, even after hearing of his arrest in New York, believing he was involved but not guilty. I never thought he would take it this far."
She continued, "Justice for El Taiger is essential. If Damián is guilty, he must face the consequences severely. He took the life of someone who had children, a grandmother, and a family—someone with a full life ahead."
Evelyn also addressed potential family disagreements with her stance, admitting, "The family might oppose my views since I've known him since he was a child. But I stand by my words: if he's guilty, he must pay. Despite being part of the family, I feel profound sorrow, but justice must prevail."
Previously, Evelyn had urged social media users not to vilify Damián's family and controversially suggested that "El Taiger had it coming," referring to him as a "delinquent." However, she now emphasizes the gravity of Damián's actions. "One person is down, the main one, but believe me, there are more involved," she hinted, suggesting others might also be implicated.
Reflecting on her initial belief in Damián's innocence, Evelyn expressed regret: "I apologize to those I might have offended by insisting he was in danger. It was my heart speaking, but I see now that I was mistaken."
El Taiger passed away on October 10 after a week in the hospital due to a gunshot wound to the head. Although Miami police had been searching for Damián Valdez-Galloso as a "person of interest" for weeks, his arrest in New York last Tuesday confirmed his guilt in the artist's tragic death.
