Thursday, October 31, 2024 by Mia Dominguez

Content creator Kamilo Penin, well-known on TikTok for offering guidance and tips to job seekers in the United States, has recently revealed the earnings of construction workers in the country. With over 670,000 followers, Kamilo has successfully connected with the Latino community, including newly arrived Cubans, by providing practical insights into wages, job types, and the cost of living in the U.S.

In one of his videos, @kamilopenin explained that construction salaries can greatly vary based on experience and the worker's specific skill set. He pointed out that a construction helper without prior experience typically earns the least, while those skilled in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, drywall, or operating heavy machinery can command higher wages. Kamilo also highlights that pay rates depend on the state and employer type: "If you work with Americans, they tend to pay a bit better; Hispanics might pay a little less," he notes.

Kamilo states that the average construction salary in the United States is around $35 per hour, although this figure can fluctuate significantly depending on the location. "That would roughly be the average wage for construction workers today in the U.S.," he mentions in the video, emphasizing that employees in companies offering benefits or those who are unionized can earn more.

Through this kind of content, Penin not only informs but also continues his mission to assist his followers in gaining a clearer understanding of the U.S. job market. In previous videos, he has shared job postings he finds both on the street and online, and has offered advice on tackling the challenges of living and working in this country, especially for Cubans who are newly integrating into American society.
