Two Cuban women residing in Tampa, Florida have embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, launching their own food truck just two years after arriving in the United States. They have shared their experiences on social media, aiming to inspire fellow Cubans. Acting as the "host" in each episode on TikTok (@lacalientefoodtruck), one of the women described their venture as a tale of triumph: "With only two years in the United States, we started our own food truck business in Tampa."
Expressing their ambitions, they dream of becoming the largest food truck in Florida and eventually expanding into a nationwide chain. The young entrepreneur expressed confidence in their success, stating, "Dreams, when paired with a solid plan, turn into tangible goals."
She added enthusiastically, "With your support, Tropic on the go 'La Caliente' has just begun," hinting at what might be the name of their fledgling business.
First Steps and Challenges
In a revealing video, she disclosed that their food truck was imported. Seeing the truck for the first time sparked immense excitement as she exclaimed, "Now we’re ready!" This moment marked a significant milestone for the new venture in Tampa.
The third installment in their journey showcased the positioning of the food truck at its final location. The Cuban entrepreneur admitted that they had to manually position the truck because the vehicle used for transportation couldn't handle the task.
Once in place, they opened it for the first time to inspect everything inside, as depicted in the video documenting the setup process.
Preparing for Launch
Their latest update involved unloading and starting the setup process. They bought the food truck fully stocked and had to clean each piece of equipment before installation. The young women revealed that all the merchandise arrived by ship, yet it was undamaged and complete.
Although they haven't disclosed the exact location where they'll operate in Tampa or specified the type of cuisine they'll offer, the women assured that they will continue to share insights about their journey of building a business from the ground up in the United States.
