For some, it's a token of misfortune, while for others, it's more of a lucky charm. Glen, the doll that accompanied El Taiger in his latest music video, as well as in various concerts and social media appearances before his passing, has piqued the interest of many of his fans.
Glen is the offspring of the notorious dolls Chucky and Tiffany from the infamous horror film series "Child's Play." Despite his alter ego, Glenda, embodying a more sinister side, Glen represents the more benevolent and innocent aspect of the character. In the film "Seed of Chucky" (2004), Glen is appalled by his parents' violent tendencies, and contrary to his appearance, he is not evil.
The Doll's Journey to El Taiger
But how did this doll end up in El Taiger's possession, and what did it mean to him? According to a report by Cuba Cute, the doll belonged to a friend of the reggaeton artist Sandro Cumbas. However, it became more than just a prop for El Taiger, as he came to identify with Glen, making it a symbol of his unique style and image.
Aftermath and Reactions
El Taiger's manager, Teresa Padrón, traveled to Cuba for his funeral and brought the doll along, which is now in the hands of his young daughter, Ana Paloma. Images on social media show the child holding the doll, sparking mixed reactions: "I beg you to keep that angel away from that doll; there's something diabolical about it that makes my skin crawl. Remove it from the child's side"; "If that doll were so powerful, El Taiger would still be alive. And now they give it to the little girl—people have no sense; objects carry the burdens of their owners, and this one only brought sorrow and misfortune"; "The doll emits a very dark aura to be near a child"; "I think the girl shouldn't keep that doll. In Jesus's name, I cast out any evil spirit that doll might have."
Others, however, don't see the doll in such a negative light: "God bless you, beautiful girl, don't fear anything. Fear the wicked living, those are the ones to watch out for, and your daddy from heaven must be very proud and happy that you have it. Your dad understood the doll's true, innocent purpose"; "Watch the movie. Like Glen, El Taiger was a good person surrounded by evildoers. Don't fear a mere doll; it's the living who can be deceitful and do what was done to El Taiger. Leave superstition behind and focus on seeking justice for him"; "Glen is the complete opposite of his parents; he's Chucky's son and stands against violence. There's nothing wrong with the doll; it's the living who are dangerous, not a doll. Poor girls, they've been left orphaned, and a whole family has been shattered."
