Monday, October 28, 2024 by Aaron Delgado

A TikToker has revealed a selection of top-notch applications designed to assist immigrants, including Cubans and individuals from other nations, in finding employment in the United States, especially for those struggling due to the absence of work permits.

The TikToker, known as @junioramesty24, highlighted Monster as the leading app thanks to its user-friendly interface and the ability to filter job listings by trade. However, the TikToker cautioned that many positions on this platform do require a valid work permit.

For those lacking necessary documentation, Instawork comes highly recommended. This app focuses on part-time opportunities, allowing users to sign up and access real-time job listings, facilitating swift and easy applications.

Among the TikToker's top choices is Nextdoor, dubbed as “the Facebook for Americans.” This platform allows users to post job-seeking notices or keep an eye on various job listings as they frequently pop up, offering diverse tasks. According to the TikToker, this app connects job seekers directly with local employers, typically U.S. citizens, who often provide competitive wages.

Social Media: A Tool for Overcoming Job Hunt Challenges

One of the most significant obstacles immigrants face upon arriving in the United States is securing employment. Consequently, social media platforms have become channels for sharing tips and best practices to navigate these challenges.

Recently, a Cuban TikToker residing in Atlanta shared her insights with followers on how she manages to earn around $3,000 monthly. In a TikTok video, Yanet (@yanetatlanta) discussed her income-generating strategy on the platform, explaining, “I combine my regular content with videos over a minute long that I monetize, along with TikTok Shop. Everyone who does this knows the numbers fluctuate, but I've consistently maintained, always trending upward, never below,” she elaborated.

The influencer also offered valuable advice on social media for those interested in employment with the popular supermarket chain, Publix.
