This past Friday, the ashes of El Taiger arrived in Cuba, drawing family, friends, and fans to gather at the El Sauce Cultural Center in Havana to bid the artist a final farewell. Social media is already abuzz with initial images from the tribute held in his homeland.
One video reveals a screen displaying images of the artist, while at the center of the stage rests the urn with his ashes, accompanied by his photo, surrounded by numerous floral wreaths and Cuban flags. In recent hours, there has been some controversy regarding the nature of the ceremony.
Ceremony Controversy
Initially, Jorge Junior, a cousin of the reggaeton star, encouraged fans to pay their respects at El Sauce. However, an official statement from the Cuban Institute of Music indicated that the ceremony was intended to be a private affair at the family's request. Just before the event commenced, Jorge Junior backtracked, describing it as "a beautiful family gathering."
Despite this, a video circulating on social media captures a woman asking attendees to take their seats so that fans waiting outside might also pay their respects to the reggaeton artist. Subsequent images reveal dozens of people gathered at the venue.
