Rapper Bian Oscar Rodríguez Gala, known as El B, has spoken out about the dire situation in Cuba, where relentless power outages have left the nation shrouded in darkness for extended periods. Through his Instagram stories, El B addressed fellow Cubans, once again questioning the dictatorial leaders and their oppressive forces.
"The crisis in Cuba endures; the blackouts persist, leaving the country cut off. People in hospitals rely on equipment and are dying, food is spoiling, and I want to send a message to those unhappy individuals within the regime's repressive forces. You are just like the ordinary citizens suffering, protesting, or mourning the loss of loved ones due to the incompetence of these fools who can't steer the country toward prosperity. Right now, you too are without power, cut off, and your food is spoiling. Your family is enduring this as well," El B lashed out.
"It's a crucial time to ponder whether you want to continue being part of the servitude under those bastards who've been plunging an entire nation into misery, fear, hopelessness, and total destruction for over 60 years. I'm baffled; my generation thought nothing could surpass the hardships of the 1990s Special Period, yet here we are, witnessing the limits of barbarity from these people being shattered," the rapper added.
Unity Among Cubans is Essential
El B highlighted the importance of staying united as Cubans: "Let's not fall into their trap of dividing us as always, 'if you left, you lost; if you stayed, you're better; those who left no longer matter.' No, my brother, let's not succumb to that... We're here, but many are on the other side, and most have never turned their backs on Cuba's situation. In one way or another, they have contributed and supported their people. Some avoid politics but still provide for their families and help those in Cuba, so we've never truly been divided. It's just families torn apart on both shores. Let's not be confused. Right now, Cuba is in total darkness and isolation, and the world knows what's happening thanks to those outside. Let's not let them divide us; everyone is striving for the same goal—a free Cuba for those here and there."
Standing Up Against Intimidation
Addressing recent threats from leader Miguel Díaz-Canel against street protesters, El B emphasized: "Don't let them scare us. This shameless man in his green suit is trying to play soldier, to instill fear... these abusers have already dressed up like Power Rangers with that green suit. They're sending their henchmen to beat people. He doesn't have the guts to step onto the streets with a stick to hit anyone, nor do any of those corrupt individuals in power."
In the past week, the situation has become unbearable for many families on the island, and the power outages seem endless.
