Miami Police Hold Crucial Video Evidence in El Taiger Case

Wednesday, October 23, 2024 by Oscar Fernandez

The Miami police department reportedly possesses a critical video capturing the exact moment when El Taiger was fatally shot. However, the footage alone does not conclusively identify the shooter, as reported by Univision journalist Daniel Benítez. "The police are still in the process of gathering the necessary evidence to formally charge someone with this homicide," Benítez revealed during a live stream on his YouTube channel.

Speculations Dismissed and Investigation Progress

Benítez further noted that police sources assured him they do not believe—contrary to some social media speculations—that El Taiger's murder is connected to the Latin Kings or other criminal gangs. "This appears to be a much more personal matter, suggesting that the killer was someone very close to El Taiger, with no links to debts or the Latin Kings, but rather involving another type of operation," the journalist emphasized.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Damian Valdez-Galloso remains a significant person of interest, yet no arrest warrant has been issued against him. "It’s clear that the police and prosecutors lack conclusive evidence to pinpoint a suspect, although they are closing in on the case, they need proof beyond a reasonable doubt," Benítez explained.

Insights from Influencers and Witness Accounts

Influencer Alexander Otaola also referred to the same video, providing additional details. While he hasn't viewed the footage himself, he shared a description of the events it supposedly captures. Otaola mentioned that the video depicts El Taiger arriving at Damian’s residence in Hialeah during the early hours, appearing "visibly angry."

After kicking a gate, a man is seen emerging from the property, and following a scuffle, the individual retrieves a gun and shoots El Taiger, causing him to fall to his knees. Otaola pointed out that Valdez-Galloso—known as "El Narra"—was the sole resident of the house, raising suspicions about his direct involvement. The distant camera angle has made it challenging to clearly identify the shooter, which is why Damian has not been formally accused. Otaola claimed that police suspect Damian might be hiding in New York.

Police and Public Appeal

Until now, Miami authorities have neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the video mentioned by both the journalist and influencer. Manuel Morales, the Miami Police Chief, ruled out the possibility of suicide shortly after the incident, describing it as a "criminal act." Morales appealed to the public for assistance in locating Damian Valdez-Galloso, aged 49, who has been declared a "person of interest" in the investigation of the reggaeton artist's death.

El Taiger passed away on October 10, after spending a week in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, following his discovery in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigations revealed that he was among the last people to see the reggaeton star before he was found injured.

Community Response and Public Reactions

Recently, a relative of Damian Valdez-Galloso urged the public not to vilify the family on social media. She also shared opinions about El Taiger that might be considered painful or inappropriate by his fans, who are experiencing a collective mourning for the loss. In a lengthy YouTube broadcast, Evelyn—Valdez’s relative—criticized certain influencers for what she sees as a media witch hunt against her nephew, which she claims is also harming the entire family by sharing personal photos online.

Authorities have offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Damian Valdez’s whereabouts. He is described as 5'09" tall, weighing approximately 186 pounds, with brown eyes and hair, and tattoos on both arms and chest. The police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
