During a heartfelt concert in Kentucky, El Chacal paid tribute to his late colleague El Taiger by performing one of their hit songs, "Papelito." He began by addressing the audience, saying, "I can't start this show without doing what's right. The first song is dedicated to someone who was more than a colleague; he was a dear friend. After sharing countless hours in the studio, celebrating and touring together, I can't enjoy tonight's show without making this song the first one I perform. Though he's no longer with us physically, he remains in our thoughts and hearts."
El Chacal continued, "He left an incredible musical legacy. While we've mourned and felt his absence, I want to remember him this way. May God bless José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, El Taiger, and watch over his family during these tough times," he added just before the opening chords of the song began to play.
With a smile tinged with emotion, El Chacal allowed El Taiger's voice to fill the venue as the music video they created together was displayed on the stage. Inviting the audience to sing along, El Chacal found himself too moved to join in during his part. "You all sing it so he can hear it from above," he encouraged the crowd, who passionately sang the song from start to finish.
El Taiger released the remix of "Papelito" alongside El Chacal in December 2022, and the music video on YouTube has amassed over 19 million views, underscoring the enduring impact of their collaboration.
