Over the weekend, a heartfelt farewell took place at San Lázaro Church in Hialeah, Miami, as family, friends, and fans gathered to honor the late Cuban singer José Manuel Carbajal, better known as El Taiger. Many of the artist's colleagues joined the emotional memorial, alongside dozens of admirers who came to pay their respects. Among those present was El Taiger's family, including his two daughters, who faced this poignant moment together.
The mother of Yaliet, El Taiger's eldest daughter, shared images on the young girl's account. Accompanying Yaliet during this difficult time, her mother posted a touching message on a video showing the girl at the wake: "I miss you so much, Dad. I will never forget you. I carry you in my heart and in every thought, and in the faces of my siblings whom I love dearly. Soar high until we meet with Grandma."
Sofía Karim, another of El Taiger’s daughters, was also present at the tribute. A particularly moving moment occurred when the young girl affectionately called Cuban singer Osmani García "uncle," bringing him to tears with her heartfelt gesture.
The Enduring Legacy of El Taiger's Music
El Taiger's musical legacy continues to leave an indelible mark on his fans, as well as inspiring fellow Cuban musicians to keep his spirit alive through his songs. Several artists have paid tribute to him with their music. The emotional farewell in Miami underscores the profound impact El Taiger had on those close to him and the broader Cuban community.
