Kenia, the former girlfriend of late Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, and known on TikTok as @keniacejasmiami, has been sharing heartfelt memories of the musician on her social media since news of his hospitalization and subsequent death emerged. Through a series of videos, Kenia has voiced her sorrow and defended the legacy of one of Cuba's most influential urban music figures.
In her latest TikTok video, Kenia reflects on how some individuals have attempted to tarnish El Taiger's image following his passing. Visibly moved, she remarked, "It's disheartening to see attempts to degrade the image of someone who only acted for the good of Cubans, always with his cheerful smile, whether it was a good day or not, and if asked for a photo. In every song, he consistently uplifted women."
Kenia also highlighted El Taiger's pride in his Cuban identity, emphasizing that despite emigrating, he never lost his sense of belonging to his homeland. "He was someone who always said, above all, 'I am a feeling.' These false comments and images are pathetic," she added, addressing some negative remarks circulating about the artist online.
El Taiger's Enduring Legacy
Known for his career in the urban genre and for songs that celebrated both women and Cuba, El Taiger left an indelible mark among his fans. For Kenia, his departure should not overshadow his legacy: "He was a young man whose emigration did not make him arrogant; rather, it made him appreciate that being Cuban was an even better feeling."
Kenia's testimony joins a wave of supportive messages that have emerged in memory of the reggaeton star, who recently passed away, leaving a void in the Cuban music scene and among his followers.
