Saturday, October 12, 2024 by Emma Garcia

In the wake of the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Milton, American rescuers came to the aid of Millie, a pig stranded at a gas station in Lithia, Florida. Alongside Millie, several goats and a donkey were also saved, according to CBS News.

This wasn't the sole act of heroism following the devastation of Milton, which struck Florida as a fierce Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The U.S. Coast Guard managed to rescue a man clinging to a cooler in the waters near Longboat Key, while another team saved a 14-year-old boy who was floating on debris in Hillsborough.

The wrath of Milton has claimed the lives of at least 12 people in Florida.
