Renowned Cuban comedian Ulises Toirac announced on Thursday his growing frustration with the insults he's been receiving on his Facebook profile, prompting him to alter his post settings to restrict comments. "I've decided to allow only my 'friends' to comment on my posts. I'm fed up with the disrespect on my own page," Toirac declared on Facebook.

Known for his ironic and candid style on social media, as well as his reflections on social issues, Toirac explained that he maintains a respectful demeanor when engaging on others' profiles. "If I have differing opinions, I keep them to myself because it's not my place. It seems my own space wasn't being respected, so it's peace and harmony on my profile from now on," he added.

Toirac acknowledged that this change might affect those with positive intentions, but he emphasized that it's not worth getting worked up over social media when daily life already presents enough stress and pressure. "Why bother fighting online when the struggles outside are already overwhelming?" he noted.

Commenting on Social Behavior

The comedian recently criticized the behavior of many Cubans on social media, especially in light of recent events that have stirred public opinion, such as the assault on reggaeton artist El Taiger in Miami. Ulises expressed on his Facebook wall that much of what he reads online seems alien: cold, soulless, lacking discernment, overly simplistic, and dehumanized.
