The Cuban singer Jorge Junior, who leads the band "Los 4," is engulfed in frustration and despair over the hurdles he faces in obtaining a humanitarian visa to the United States. His urgent need to be with his cousin, El Taiger, during these trying times is becoming increasingly difficult. In an Instagram live session, Jorge Junior revealed that he has been struggling for six days to secure the visa, hoping to travel to the U.S. to support El Taiger, who is in critical condition after being shot in the head.
Jorge Junior expressed his dissatisfaction with the U.S. Embassy, accusing them of not expediting the visa process. "I've been requesting a humanitarian visa for around six days, hoping to get there, and when I arrive at the U.S. Embassy, an interviewer hands me a form and tells me to wait 10 to 20 days. I wonder, do they not understand what a humanitarian visa is? There's someone in the U.S. awaiting a relative in dire conditions, in a critical state, who cannot afford to wait 10 days," he lamented.
The singer clarified that the issue is not with the Cuban government, as they acted swiftly. "I've had the opportunity to enter the U.S. for baseball, for whatever I wanted, and now when I truly need to be there because of my cousin's situation, I can't. They don't care. I don't know if you all can help," he added, urging his followers to support his cause. Before this announcement, Jorge Junior had shared on social media, "From this side, since day one, I've moved heaven and earth to be by my cousin's side. I canceled everything and completed all necessary paperwork. As of tonight, neither I nor my mother have received any response. It's the first time in history that a humanitarian visa is being processed directly from here, I'm told, and it doesn't depend on this side."
Meanwhile, El Taiger remains hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he was admitted last Thursday. According to the latest updates from his management team, the singer's condition is grave. "Although we hold onto a sliver of hope, we are also preparing for any eventualities," one of his managers stated on Wednesday, October 9.
