The Miami police department announced on Monday a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the location of Damián Valdez-Galloso, also known as “El Narra.” Valdez-Galloso is the primary suspect in the shooting of Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, who is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Miami.
Valdez-Galloso, a resident of Hialeah, is considered a person of interest by law enforcement. He is described as having brown eyes and hair, weighing approximately 186 pounds, and standing at 5'09". At a press briefing, it was noted he also has tattoos on both arms and his chest.
Authorities Intensify Search Efforts
Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales emphasized that detectives are tirelessly working on the case, stating, “We possess both physical and digital evidence indicating this was not an attempted suicide.” Morales urged Valdez-Galloso to contact the police if he was watching the briefing.
Valdez-Galloso, of Cuban origin, has a criminal history including a 2021 arrest and charges of grand theft. Additionally, since 2007, he has been listed as a sexual offender, accused of engaging in sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl. He has been detained twice by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Community Involvement in the Investigation
Initial unofficial accusations against Valdez-Galloso came from Cuban singer Anyel Rubier Reyes, known as Anyelo RR, who posted photos of himself with Valdez-Galloso and El Taiger.
Last Saturday, police visited Valdez-Galloso's residence, heightening social media speculation. However, authorities clarified that no arrests had been made.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 305 471-TIPS (8477). Tips leading to the arrest of Valdez-Galloso could make the informant eligible for the reward of up to $5,000.
