Jacob Forever is deeply affected by the dire situation of his friend and fellow artist, El Taiger, who is in critical condition after being shot in the head. In a heartfelt Instagram story, the reggaeton star expressed his sorrow and hope, sending a direct message to El Taiger: "Most people who go through what happened to you unfortunately don’t even make it to the hospital," he began. "You arrived with your heart still beating and you're still here. You're so strong, my brother, I'm proud of you, the true force of our country," Jacob added, emphasizing El Taiger's significance not only to him but to Cuban music as a whole.
The message concludes with a plea reflecting his anguish: "Open your eyes so they can call me and I can rush to see you," followed by a fraternal declaration of love: "I love you, brother," tagging El Taiger. This emotional message comes after days of uncertainty since last Thursday when news broke that El Taiger was found inside a car in Miami with a gunshot wound to the head. Like many other close artists, Jacob has been sharing his pain publicly. Outside Jackson Memorial Hospital, on the same day the news emerged, he spoke to journalist Alexis Boentes, admitting to feeling devastated: "I feel very bad, just like many artists here," Jacob said, visibly shaken.
The bond between the two has been strong for years, and the incident has left Jacob and the entire Cuban artistic community in deep sorrow. "I just ask God for you to overcome whatever has happened and for us to meet again," Jacob had said in a previous message, praying for his friend’s recovery.
Growing Support from the Cuban Artistic Community
As El Taiger remains in critical condition, the list of Cuban artists, not limited to the urban genre, showing support continues to grow. Displays of support, vigils, and prayer chains are happening not only online but also outside the hospital, in various Cuban provinces, and even in Barcelona, where followers and friends of the singer have organized solidarity events to pray for his recovery.
