Renowned Cuban singer Francisco Céspedes took to social media to share a heartfelt message following the tragic incident involving reggaeton artist El Taiger, whose real name is José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar. El Taiger remains in critical condition after being shot in the head last Thursday in Miami. He is currently receiving treatment at Jackson Memorial Hospital, as the Cuban and international music communities rally with support and prayers.

In a post titled "Reflections," Céspedes expressed his deep solidarity, stating, "A young colleague known as Taiger was shot in Miami, and I sincerely hope that GOD aids him because, beyond being an artist, he is a human being who has earned the affection of many and reached heights in his genre that others aspire to."

Céspedes Criticizes Judgmental Reactions

Céspedes didn't hold back his criticism of those who have judged El Taiger during this challenging time: "Hearing people condemn him in the name of GOD or the devil is, in my consciousness, an unflattering gesture. These 'critics,' referencing his personal history, seem to harbor ill intentions masked as moral or spiritual concerns."

Filled with hope, Céspedes urged for El Taiger's recovery, emphasizing the role of faith in difficult times: "For those who believe in their gods or devils, remember, if your belief is genuine, the decision lies in their hands, not your malicious ones." He ended his message with a heartfelt plea for the young artist to wake up: "Wake up, young man; I say this because you could be my son... get up and return to your loved ones with a life-changing experience."

The post was accompanied by a painting honoring the urban artist, created by Cuban painter Richard Somonte, who has been based in Madrid for the past five years. Céspedes' words sparked a flood of reactions, with many artists and fans touched by his message. Comments like "You're amazing, Pancho," "Such beautiful and sincere words, maestro," and "Only those who understand the value of a human being can write like you," filled the post. Others offered support and prayers: "May he recover soon," "Very sad," among others.

Widespread Support from the Music Community

El Taiger's situation has galvanized not just Cuban urban artists but also prominent musicians like Aymée Nuviola and Chucho Valdés, who have publicly shown their support. Internationally, figures such as J Balvin, J Quiles, and Zion have also called for the reggaeton artist's swift recovery. Outside the Miami hospital, prayer chains and displays of solidarity continue to be a common sight.

In his poignant conclusion, Céspedes reflected on life's fragility and the power of faith in the unexpected: "This young man... tomorrow or the day after could wake up, providing, at least for me, a very pleasant surprise."

While El Taiger, born José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, remains in a critical state, the unwavering faith and support from his followers persist.
