Saturday, October 5, 2024 by Charlotte Gomez

Cuban rapper Aldo El Aldeano put aside past disputes with fellow musician El Taiger to join the wave of solidarity following the reggaeton artist's shooting on Thursday in Miami. Aldo shared a heartfelt message on his social media, expressing his wishes for El Taiger's recovery. "I deeply regret what happened to you, my friend. I hope you recover soon. Strength to you, your children, your family, your friends, and your fans," he stated.

These two prominent figures in the urban music scene have been engaged in a heated online feud for several months, marked by insults and ridicule. Just three months ago, Aldo released a track aimed at El Taiger titled "Cosonga," accusing him of being a communist due to his frequent trips to Cuba. "I hope you enjoy it and that Taigerman kicks the drug habit; I also wish no brother of mine feels bad about being overweight," Aldo remarked in the video's description.

A History of Conflict

Back in April, El Aldeano attacked El Taiger through an Instagram message. "Take a shower, come on; shower and admit yourself because your friends won't tell you this, but you need help, you're sick. You're embarrassing your family, both alive and deceased. Take a shower," he urged. Previously, El Taiger had mocked Aldo in a live video, claiming Aldo wore makeup for his online appearances due to his age. "Some makeup and stuff, you're putting on makeup to speak, because that's what baseball players do when the sun hits. That costume you wore, Baconao. You're so old you came out with makeup like Baconao," he laughed.

Support from the Urban Music Community

Other urban genre artists such as Chocolate, Ja Rulay, and El Chulo, who have had previous conflicts with El Taiger, have also expressed their support for his recovery. The artist is in a critical condition, suffering from severe brain injuries and on life support. "I've often been so high up that I've felt like I couldn't breathe, nearly unable to escape. El Taiger, you can overcome this and more, you're strong. Let’s send a wave of prayers; may God and everything that exists lend a hand," wrote El Rey de los Reparteros on Instagram.

El Chulo, known as Abel Díaz Rodríguez, also conveyed his support, respect, and empathy. "The most important thing right now is for you to reach a stable condition and live to raise your daughters. I'm sorry you're going through this challenging situation. Never forget that your inner strength is greater than any challenge you face," he expressed.
