A Cuban-American living in the United States is offering a reward of 1.5 million Cuban pesos (1,500,000 CUP) for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for a robbery that took place on October 2nd at his home in Santa Clara. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when the intruders forced entry into the residence on Martí Street using a tool to pry open a window. The victim, identified on Facebook as Karel Molla, reported that the thieves stole a gold chain, a sum of cash, and a pair of Versace earrings.
In response, Molla is now offering a reward equivalent to $5,000 USD. According to video footage captured during the incident, at least three individuals were involved: two entered the house while a third kept watch outside. The security footage shows one suspect in black clothing and the other wearing jeans and green gloves. All were hooded and appeared visibly anxious as they paced in front of the home.
The affected resident has provided contact numbers 55995161 and 54163142 for anyone with information that could help identify the thieves and recover the stolen items.
Rising Crime Targets Cuban Emigrants
Amid increasing violence in Cuba, emigrants have become frequent targets for robberies. Earlier this year, a case emerged where one such individual clung to his car's windshield in a desperate attempt to prevent its theft. In another tragic incident, Yorjelguis Bolaños Fernández, a young man residing in the U.S., was murdered in January in Mayabeque over a robbery.
