The Cuban singer El Taiger remains in a dire state, grappling with extensive brain damage. As of now, it will take several hours before it is determined whether he will survive the injuries sustained from a gunshot wound to the head on Thursday.
His manager, Carlos Alfaro, disclosed that the surgeon confirmed the bullet entered through his forehead and exited the right side of his brain, necessitating the removal of part of his brain tissue. "He is currently on artificial respiration," Alfaro informed Univisión journalist Daniel Benítez outside Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. "He has significant brain damage and is surviving on machines. If the machines are turned off, he is essentially in a vegetative state," he elaborated.
Investigation and Official Statements
According to Daniel Benítez, the police are interviewing an individual in connection with the incident. The chief of the department is expected to hold a press conference this Friday to provide further details.
On Thursday night, Marcel Reinosa, El Taiger’s manager, confirmed that the bullet did not damage the left side of his brain. "The part of the brain responsible for recognizing people and memory remains intact for now; it's a miracle he's alive, fighting for his life," Reinosa explained.
Reinosa completely dismissed speculations about a suicide attempt or a shooting incident, clarifying that police are still investigating and have identified a person of interest. "The prognosis is uncertain; it's a waiting game at this point. No one can predict the outcome, as hope is the last thing to lose," he emphasized.
