Thursday, October 3, 2024 by Sophia Martinez

A major crash occurred on Thursday morning, resulting in damage to more than twenty vehicles on Miami-Dade's I-95 interstate. A video shared on the lifestyle_miami site captured the scale of the incident, displaying a long line of cars involved in a chain-reaction collision.

As of this report, the reasons behind the extensive crash remain unidentified, and it is unclear whether any individuals were injured in the accident. The images revealed significant material damage to several vehicles, with some overturned and severely damaged.

The Aftermath of the Collision

Earlier in September, the southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for over 12 hours following a dramatic accident. Thousands of people were stranded after a crash involving a fuel tanker, which led to a complete shutdown of southbound lanes and caused a major traffic jam around midday.

Photos shared on Instagram by the account Only in Dade depicted several vehicles with substantial damage, including a Lexus sedan, a red pickup truck, and an overturned fuel tanker.

A Tragic Loss on I-95

In February, 23-year-old Yanaisa Milagro Pulido, a Cuban-American EMT from Miami, tragically lost her life while assisting injured individuals in a multi-vehicle accident on I-95. Yanaisa, born in the United States to Cuban parents, was returning home from work with a colleague around 4:00 am when she stopped to help victims of a collision. Unfortunately, two additional vehicles struck one of the initially crashed cars, which then hit Yanaisa, resulting in her death.

The incident took place on the southbound lanes of I-95, north of State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale. "Yanaisa was a hero who wanted to help people in any way she could. Her dream was to be a first responder and save lives," stated Dayami Apaulaza, who initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her funeral.
