An unusual incident unfolded in Hialeah when 26-year-old Cuban Roberlandys Fernández Peña was arrested after breaking into a motel room naked, where a woman was staying, and threatening her while claiming to be Satan. He told her it was her "last day on earth."

According to the victim's account, she had stepped out briefly to address an issue with her room key. Upon her return, she was shocked to find the naked man in her room, who violently attacked her. The intruder, covered in tattoos, claimed to be her husband and even put on underwear belonging to the woman's partner, who was at work at the time.

The woman attempted to escape, but Fernández grabbed her by the hair, pushed her onto the bed, and began strangling her, all while repeating that he was Satan and she had to die. "He told me he was Satan, that it was my last day, that I had to die," the victim recounted to local media.

Fortunately, her screams alerted a neighbor, who called the police. Officers arrived promptly and arrested Roberlandys Fernández. The victim, still visibly shaken, expressed fear over the incident and stated that she did not know her attacker before that day. "I'm very strong, but this has been very hard for me. Every time I close my eyes, I see that man's face and remember what he did," she revealed.

Despite the ordeal, the woman also shared that the accused's mother had pleaded with her, tearfully, not to press charges. However, the victim emphasized that while she understood the mother's pain, she too was a victim and could have lost her life.

Fernández faces serious charges, including robbery with assault and physical battery, crimes that could result in a life sentence if convicted. During his initial appearance in Miami-Dade County criminal court, Judge Mindy S. Glazer read the case details aloud, underscoring the severity of the events and the danger the victim faced.

Peña agreed to the conditions set by the judge, which included a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching or contacting the victim under any circumstances. After his first court appearance, the accused was returned to the county jail. He is expected to return to court this Friday for a hearing to determine his bail conditions.
