The Cuban YouTuber Frank Camallerys and the Spanish TikToker Nury Calvo met in Miami to compare the prices of various foods found in typical supermarkets in both Spain and the United States. Items like rice, cooking oil, and bananas were among the groceries they looked at. "There are some prices I've gotten used to, but you're going to be shocked," said Nury, who resides in Miami.
Starting with cooking oil and rice, they noted some significant differences. "In Spain, 700 milliliters of oil costs 7.60 euros (approximately $8.47), while here in the USA, 750 milliliters are priced at $11.89. Rice is also more expensive here, with nearly a kilogram costing $1.89, compared to Spain's 1.35 euros (about $1.50)," they observed.
"One of the items that I find particularly expensive is sandwich turkey. In the USA, 226 grams cost $3.99, whereas in Spain, 250 grams are priced at 2.35 euros," they highlighted. "You're going to be surprised by the price of Coca-Cola. Two liters cost $2.79 here, while in Spain, the same amount is 2 euros."
After reviewing the price differences, Frank expressed his astonishment at the disparity. Many viewers commented on the video, pointing out that salaries in the United States are considerably higher, which might explain some of the price variations between the two countries.
