Cuban Man Criticizes Neglect of Injured Uncle at Havana Polyclinic

Thursday, September 26, 2024 by Bella Nunez

A Cuban man has taken to social media to denounce the lack of medical attention his injured uncle received at the 27 de Noviembre Polyclinic, located in the Los Pocitos neighborhood of Marianao, Havana.

According to Jiamny Amador, who shared a live broadcast on Facebook, his relative spent hours waiting for transportation to a hospital despite being visibly affected by the severity of his injuries. In the video, Amador condemned the deterioration of healthcare services on the island and the lack of resources available for urgent cases. He also highlighted the sluggish response to emergencies, even when a human life was at stake.

The post has garnered over a thousand comments, reflecting widespread outrage. This incident adds to the growing complaints from Cubans about the healthcare system's crisis, where a shortage of personnel, equipment, and medications exacerbates the conditions in medical facilities.
