A young Cuban woman living in Florida, known as @leidyoficial on TikTok, recently shared an emotional video reflecting on the everyday moments she misses after nearly five years away from the island.
In her video, which has garnered numerous reactions from her followers, she nostalgically recounted some memories that, though simple, were a significant part of her life in Cuba. Among the things she misses are sitting on the curb with a friend to "criticize everyone who walks by" and being awakened at noon by the baker's call, prompting her to rush out to buy bread.
Interestingly, she mentioned that she even misses the long lines, a common grievance in Cuba that many people detest. However, the most poignant part of her message was the absence of her family and the celebrations they used to share, especially during festive times when being apart becomes particularly challenging. "Spending New Year's Eve here, staring at the ceiling while working, is tough," she lamented, expressing the pain of being separated from her loved ones.
The video struck a chord with her followers, who quickly responded with messages of support and empathy. "The only thing I don't miss about Cuba is the hardship we endured," one commented. "My children and my parents," another echoed. Many users shared her sorrow through emojis, conveying what words alone could not express.
