“Marca Mandarina,” the smash hit by Oniel Bebeshito and El Taiger, has seen various renditions, including mariachi versions. However, none compare to this latest take featuring the sounds of güiro and maracas.
Bebeshito himself shared a video on his Instagram, showcasing a Cuban group performing the song in a rustic, rural style. The ensemble included a man playing the güiro, another on guitar, a woman on double bass, and another woman on maracas, creating a lively and rhythmic harmony.
The woman with the maracas took the lead on vocals, delivering the song with a distinctive rural flavor, adding her unique touch to the original tune. The rest of the group provided backup vocals, but the güiro player stood out, having the most fun as he shouted “déjalo quemao” and danced energetically.
An Unforgettable Performance
Even Bebeshito was impressed, captioning his post with, “Guarachea que estamos en Cuba, déjalo quemado.”
Since its release last May, “Marca Mandarina” has caused a frenzy on social media and among urban music fans, amassing over 24 million views on YouTube.
