Two significant home thefts have been reported in Holguín, where burglars took everything in sight, from furniture and appliances to the very cutlery used for eating.
State journalist Emilio Rodríguez Pupo detailed on his Facebook profile that the first incident took place in the Guatemala area of the Mayarí municipality. The criminals took advantage of the homeowners' absence, as they were traveling in the western part of the country. "The person entrusted with the house's custody was involved, according to the investigations," he specified.
Thanks to the cooperation of the neighbors, the police apprehended the thieves, and the stolen goods were returned to their rightful owners. Among the stolen items were high-value heritage furniture such as chairs, armchairs, wardrobes, mattresses, a water pump, a television, a radio, a stove, and many more.
Another Nearby Incident
The other burglary occurred nearby, on the same street O. The victim, named Yudaisi Ríos Ramírez, had left to care for her sick mother when the burglar entered her home. This week, the police returned Yudaisi’s belongings: a VEF radio, television remotes, an iron, clothing, and even the glasses and spoons from her kitchen.
