Cuban comedians Ángel García (Antolín el Pichón), Geonel Martín (Gustavito), and Nelson Gudín (El Bacán de la Vida) have shown their support for a young colleague who recently arrived in the United States.

The comedian in question is Karel Villanueva, known as El Kereketé, who, despite being in the country for only a month, had his first artistic performance in Miami on Saturday, September 7. According to his team, El Kereketé performed successfully at Toreros Churrascaria Kendall, where he "received the support and presence of talented and well-known comedians from Miami."

"Thanks and a thousand thanks to everyone for the support. One step at a time," said the actor on his Instagram account, where he shared photos enjoying time with Antolín, Gustavito, and El Bacán after the show. Another photo suggests that Karel might also be working in what appears to be a carpentry shop.

The actor arrived in the United States a few weeks ago with his family, following several months of journeying to cross the southern border of the United States. "Tears, hunger, life risk, assaults, betrayals by many trusted people, sleepless nights, and fear of what tomorrow might bring. Five months in a reel. But a lifetime to remember," he wrote on his social media.

"It's hard to beat someone who never gives up," he noted, thanking his wife and children, as well as relatives and friends.

Villanueva was one of the winners of the humor show for amateurs, Los amigos de Pepito, broadcast on Cuban television in 2008. Mario Limonta and Aurora Basnuevo were the ones who nicknamed him El Kereketé, a name he continues to use as his stage name to this day.
