Karildi Marín, a young Cuban woman, remains missing from her home, leaving her family in a heightened state of anguish as her 25th birthday approaches this Saturday, September 14th.

"This September 14th will be my sister Karildi's birthday. She has been missing for nine months, and we still have no answers from the authorities about what might have happened to her," her brother Yoandri Marín reported on Facebook.

"There is a family suffering because there's nothing more exhausting than having unanswered questions. Where could she be? What happened to her? If something did happen, who is responsible?" he questioned.

If she remains missing, this will be the first birthday she has missed. It will also mark nine months since her disappearance, as she was last seen on December 14th.

"We only ask God to help us find you, my sister, and to close this cycle that consumes us from within. Wherever you are, we love you very, very much, and we hope that one day divine justice catches up with whoever might have harmed you," Yoandri expressed. He has been actively commenting on the case online during this time.

Family's Plea for Justice

In mid-August, Yoandri stated that he still hopes to find out what happened to his sister. "I pray to God to keep you safe and for justice to be served by the authorities because until today, we have no information about you. We love you and always will," he wrote.

Yoandri trusts that divine justice will punish whoever has harmed his sister but also demands accountability from the authorities. "Solve my sister's case. Time is running out; it's no longer just a day since her disappearance, it's almost nine months. We need answers," he said in June.

Karildi Marín, 24, resided in Párraga, in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality of Havana. She disappeared on the night of December 14th after heading to a party in Cerro, and no one has heard from her since.

The young woman has a daughter who is less than two years old. On Mother's Day in May, her father dedicated a Facebook message to her with several photos of her and her daughter, as well as one from when she was pregnant shortly before giving birth.

"The officers handling the case are doing nothing, sitting around doing nothing. I'm sure that if it were one of their daughters, she would have been found by now. This is Cuba; if you don't have a godfather, you don't get baptized," said Tomás Marín.

Yoandri has also criticized the authorities' inefficiency in searching for his sister. "Those who are supposed to ensure public safety are not doing their job correctly. There are no leads on her, so why hasn't any suspect been identified despite the clues provided?" he inquired in April.
